The Red Sea boasts a rich and diverse marine ecosystem, teeming with vibrant coral reefs and a wide array of marine life. Divers can encounter an array of species, from colourful reef fish and graceful rays to majestic sea turtles and dolphins. The region is also home to a variety of sharks, including hammerheads and reef sharks, which can be seen year-round. The unique combination of warm waters and extensive coral formations creates an underwater paradise for diving holiday.
The Red Sea offers diverse diving routes across three main zones: North, Central, and South. In Northern Egypt, departing from Sharm El-Sheikh or Hurghada, divers can explore renowned national parks like Ras Mohammed and the ship’s graveyard of Abu Nuhas, including iconic wrecks. The Northern itinerary also covers the pristine reefs of Tiran and Dahab’s Blue Hole.
The Central region, known as 'The Golden Triangle,' features the Brothers Islands, Daedalus Reef, and Elphinstone Reef, with departures typically from Safaga or Marsa Alam. These sites offer deep walls, dramatic drop-offs, and encounters with pelagic species like hammerheads and oceanic whitetips.
In the South, routes to St. John’s Reef, Zabargad, and Rocky Island depart from Marsa Alam, promising unique and challenging dives with spectacular coral formations and networks of tunnels in more isolated areas.
